Interesting bit of dichotomy. Dems score better on approval yet the very same respondents have a slight preference for GOP on a ballot.

Sounds like a Mark column fodder:-)

Americans are inpatient and conflicted lot. Majority don't understand simple economic issues and their beliefs are shaped from what they hear from MSM especially Fox News. It's very sad state of affairs.

IdahoMulato,

The American people are not as stupid as you and many on the left believe them to be. This is still a center-right country and being that that is the case, many are pissed with runaway spending, deficits and debt, not to mention 10% unemployment. The Democrats have complete control of the Federal government. There is a massive amount of anger, anxiety and worry out there in the land and the party in power is going to take a beating. It is what we call a "political reality". It may be time to accept this reality.

I think the only conflict you see is with independent voters scratching their heads about a President they see governing in completely different way than he campaiged. They hate the Repub. party and haven't forgotten the last 9 years, but they're actually growing more distressed over a President who has managed to alienate them in little more than a year.
