@Stillow:
I plead guilty to the point you made on a previous health care polling thread. Your posts support reform of health care, and I called you an opponent of reform. So I will accept that you support health-care reform, just not the plans currently making their way through Congress.

But the point I made still stands: when you say, "I already gave you the pages to read where it clearly in big black print makes it illegal for private carriers to take on new customers," you have misunderstood the language on page 16 of the House health care bill. That language applies only to existing plans which do not meet the new regulations effective on the date of the bill's enactment. It does not apply to new plans in compliance with the new regulations. (You must think that the new regulations will make the issuance of complying plans exceedingly onerous.) In this case, I think it is you who are unable to "actually learn to read and are able to actually think for yourself". It is you who are just repeating the talking points of those who oppose the current attempts to reform health care.

There are many reasons to oppose the reform efforts going through Congress right now. The idea that they will outlaw private insurers from issuing insurance coverage is untrue, and is not a reason for opposing these reform efforts. If you wish your support of health care reform to be taken seriously, stop using distortions to oppose the current efforts underway in Congress. Use the truth instead.

@polls_apart:

You are just incorrect.The language is very cleverly written, but as you should know, but seem not to know, verbage is subject to interpratation. I have seen arguments from lawyers on both sides making this argument you are. They will be put out of business, make no mistake about it.

If that was not the case then Blue Dogs would not be insisting that provision be removed along with many many other provisions.

You forget this bill has bi partisan opposition and only has support fro mthe far left wing, the Pelosi's, the Hoyers....only the left wing likes the bill, everyone else does not. There are reasons for that.

You can continue to try and cloud the sky with smoke, but its not working....you guys will not succeed in what your tryign to do....this is America, we are not going to go down the path of rationing and burocracy detemrining the treatments you get.

Remember, if a g'ment option ever passed, private carriers cannot compete because they have to generate a profit to stay in business, the g'ment can just print its own money and operate i nthe red forever it seems...if they have a shortfall they just raise taxes....

You guys are setting yourselves up for 1994 all over again.

Is it still "the far left wing" when it's a plurality of the population and a majority of congressmen?

Regardless, Stillow doesn't really have an argument here, and the devolution into threats of "1994 all over again" is basically a concession of defeat.
