Obama has got to make it clear when he meets with the 60 senators and make it clear that with or without a public option, a plan has to be put in place in the next month. This is like a football team; Obama's success is dependant on getting enough votes from the the moderates in the senate. Their careers, other than perhaps Senator Nelson would be in huge trouble of losing their next election. This is a huge team effort. The other issues like climate change, financial reform and other things are secondary until a public option or non public option will be landmark and historic. Thousands of people who work and are not welfare cases go to these free health clinics. These people deserve to have the same access to health care as Joe Lieberman, Barack Obama, John Mccain, John Boehner, and everyone else in the house and senate. People should not be denied coverage in a industrial democracy which America has a long way to go to become. I am holding off giving Obama a grade until the end of January.
