This is a baseline for support prior to the speech. I doubt they polled many people on the 9th after 8pm eastern.

Again and again, support for health care is between 40-46. The "summer of discontent" basically eroded support about 10 points, but that seems all they were capable of.

10 points is a pretty big number....and almos tevery poll has opposition over 50 which mean a majoirty do not want it as its currently constructed.

Expect a bounce, that is normal afte ra big speech...or a primary win, etc....it'll last a week or two...then we'll be back to where we are now.
