I don't usually like internet polls. I guess I was wrong. This one looks dead-on accurate. 39% approval / 61% disapproval. Hmm. Just, hmm.

If by dead-on accurate you mean a total outlier, then yeah. Harris has always been the worst of the worst internet pollsters. Besides, they're not even asking for approve/dissaprove, so to lump these results into those two categories is extremely disingenuous.

I wouldn't assume that "Only Fair" is the same as disapproval. If a poll wants to know how many people disapprove of something, then it should ask that directly.

Any way you spin it, 6% excellent is not good, and 32% poor is also not good. Give Harris the worst possible and say they are 2:1 bias and say that there are really 12% excellent and 16% poor, that's still a net negative. And that is really pushing the Harris slant.

This mirrors most independent polls. However, John Zogby has been an open cheerleader for Obama & the Democrats and when Rasmussen was trending Democrats a few years ago, the left loved them. Now they are trending G.O.P. and they hate them.

The nation was duped by a slick talking corrupt Chicago attorney and the Super Majority power of the Democratic Party has spit on and ignored the will of the small people. November WILL be a referendum against socialism and liberalism. Don't be surprised if federal indictments are in store for Obama's team. Bye bye Raum!

Wow the media is predicting a hudge pickup in the Congress by Republicans, its not going to happen people because the Gop donot have the money to compete. The Republicans have to realize that they are hated far more then the Democrats, back in 1994 that was not the case.

Melvin: It is all about turnout.

melvin:

Farleft i know its all about the turnout, but Rasmussen along with the mainstream media of this Country is acting like no Minorities is going to show up in NovemberFfarleft the immigration debate is not hurting the Dems like you think because the media was saying the samething back in 2006 on how immigration is going to kill the Democrats chances of recapturing the House in the Midterms, but it didnt the Dems won 36 seats.

@ Mark

When the hell has Rasmussen ever "trended Democrat"? Scott Rasmussen is a Republican, and always has been. He wrote as an election analyst for WND for crissake!

He's a good pollster but the skew in his model has always been known, and that skew is to the right.

As for Zogby, Nate Silver (a definite leftist) has called out their shoddy methodology, and I know of no leftist who would tout Zogby as a good pollster.

But hey, if your delusions get you through the day then enjoy!

And who the hell is "Raum"?

Calm down about this poll, everyone. As has been pointed out many times before Harris, unlike most other pollsters, uses an Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor metric. This is not comparable to a Strongly Approve/Approve/Disapprove/Strongly Disapprove metric.

This poll is practically unchanged from the last Harris poll, or indeed any Harris poll since the end of last year.

I really hate this metric. Hated it in undergrad, hated it in grad school, hate it now. "only fair" is approval, isn't it? I think my car is "only fair" but I'm not running off to trade it in...

Also, generic ballot question with the Tea Party added in is pretty much proof that those morons are killing the Republican Party, isn't it? Do you think maybe they're a left-wing plant, designed to help the Dems cling to power?

Xenobion:

As I said in the last "only fair" poll, only fair is probably a best barometer of neutral or passing or par.

"generic ballot question with the Tea Party added in is pretty much proof that those morons are killing the Republican Party, isn't it?"

It does prove what we already knew, that they are almost all disgruntled republicans.

Obama's now at 49% approval in Rasmussen among likely voters.

Democrats now lead the generic ballot in Gallup (+7 point improvement from 2 weeks ago.)

This week, Republicans lost 10 points in Gallup among Independents alone.

"Only fair" clearly means "neutral" - neither good nor bad. I don't think it should be factored in to approval or disapproval.

The only thing to be gleaned from this poll is the intensely anemic support for the national GOP.
