I had to laugh my ass off when I saw 14 percent approval for Mitch Mcconnell. I don't think I have ever seen the guy smile, and the same thing can be said about Boenher. The GOP leadership lacks much depth and charisma with those two. John Kyl isn't much better as far as showing much personality when it comes to being charismatic and winning new recruits. Rep Kantor has a little more personality but his comments at a town hall once, really irritated me. A older black lady said she was in debt and was waiting 4 more years for medicare to kick in; Kantor answered her by telling her basically to file bankruptcy and sell her belongings and apply for medicaid. That was a lame argument for even a conservative to say; what Kantor should have said was to explain why medicaid works and Obama's public option wouldn't and to suggest some alternative to big government. The GOP has disappointed me even more than I imagined through this process. It is easy for them to attack big government and organize tea parties, but recently they haven't come up with any types of market based cost cutting, which is the key to solving our health crisis.
I also had quite the laugh when Represenative Boehner compared the Dems health care reform to "drinking a garlic milkshake". This was an original and unique attempt at political humor. Mitch Mcconnell every day looks like he just drank a garlic milkshake!!!!
According to the Daily Kook Obama is beginning to take ownership of the whole "Wrong Track" thing.
