Now I am going to tell you more about the health care plan that President Obama supports and please tell me whether you would favor or oppose it.
The plan requires that health insurance companies cover people with pre-existing medical conditions. It also requires all but the smallest employers to provide health coverage for their employees, or pay a percentage of their payroll to help fund coverage for the uninsured. Families and individuals with lower- and middleincomes would receive tax credits to help them afford insurance coverage. Some of the funding for this plan would come from raising taxes on wealthier Americans.
Do you favor or oppose this plan?

@ Stillow,
Well, most people see that there is quite a health care crisis. 50 million uninsured, with another 25-50 million under insured.
With one or two million Families a year having to go into bankruptcy for medical reasons even if they have insurance, these numbers shouldn't surprise anyone.
It would be nice if everyone could get coverage under the current system, but that won't happen, so major reform is necessary.
You just happen to disagree with the majority.

@BobinOakland
Negative. The question is misleading to get certai nresults. There is no health care crisis...80% have coverage...the A large chunk of the uninsured are illegal immigrants....I do not beleive we owe rthem coverage as they are here "illegally". It would be nice, but unforutnately, the United States of America cannot solve the health care problems of the netire world.
With some reform, the current system which allows for full choice and privacy can be made better....people do not fully understand yet the impact of what a g'ment run system looks and feels like...in addition it would kill hte private insurance industry which employs a ton of people....they would not be able to compete against a tax payer funded program. You would be putting a lot of companies out of business and in turn a lot of people out of work.

@ Stillow,
I disagree that most uninsured are here illegally. Where do you get your numbers? Even 10% without coverage is too high.
The problem is that people cannot get the care that they need to survive, and state budgets are cutting what little support there is for people on the bottom.
Go ahead and live your libertarian fantasy and think that the current system will be just fine, but it's not, and it's only going to get worse as health care costs rise and services deteriorate. We'll just have to disagree on this one.

Am I talking to a brick wall? I said we all want reform of the current system, its a good system, do things to make it better, not desotry it by letting the g'ment do it for you. Start capping lawsuits, modernize the system, etc, prices will come down...any doctor will tell you they constantly have to raise there fees because of the rising cost sof malpractice isnurance they are forced to carry.
How about al lthe people who will lose there jobs i nthe private insurance industry? You libs ignore them....very very few companies will continue offering private insurance if they can just push there employees over to the public system and let the tax payers pay for it. Its not sustainable...espeically when Obama is already running nearly a 2 trillion dollar deficit.
Use your brain man, it won't work....it doesn't even work in places that do it now, Canadians often come down to the states to get coverage to aovid waiting lists and burocracy in there own system. Go google peopl dying on waiting lists in the UK for medical treatment.........and then tell me what a great system socialists have.

You have no idea what you are talking about denigrating the NHS in Britain. And what about people dying in the US that can't afford insurance? Google that.
