Mike E:

Given that this is a WaPo poll, these numbers are really, really bad for Obama.

I got news for you wing-nuts,and the major media, the Minority vote is not going to be 8%!!It hasn't been since 1994...When the GOP only gains 28 seats in November most political analyst is going to blame the GOP failures to take advantage of the economic situation, but the real reason would be the Minority vote, because 40% of suburban districts have seen a 70% increase in Minority population since 1994....In please don't say am race baiting, because am just giving out numbers, which the mainstream media, and the pollsters are refusing to do..The media have the American people thinking the GOP is going to win over 70 seats, which is very unlikely, because the Minority big for the GOP to gain anything close to that.

It's a WSJ poll.

pretty presumptious to assume you can create 5 jobs in two years, run up the deficit, not have the pulse of the country and then assume you're guaranteed a certain segment of the population will show up at the polls......and on top of that vote democrat.

@ Paleo.

Dang, need coffee. Not so amazing then, WSJ has less of a pro dem house effect.

Melvin, when you read minority you assume "votes like African Americans" That is not true at all, quite a few Hispanics support Arizona's law, and a ton voted for Bush. Please stop peddling your racist tripe, I already know what you are going to say as soon as I see your name. Paleo FLAP and other Liberals here comment on the actual poll, you just rant about race, ON EVERY POLL!

"The survey shows that among likely voters — based on their interest and past voting history — 49 percent prefer a Republican-controlled Congress while 40 percent want one run by Democrats. Among those expressing a high interest in voting, that GOP lead increases 18 points, 53 percent to 35 percent."

This is buried in the story, but does not appear in the results link.

53 to 35 among very likely voters.

18 friggin point lead in MSNBC.

Forget Ras. I have a new fave pollster.

"53 to 35 among very likely voters."

Yes, but I hear they lead by 30 among very, very, very, very, very likely voters. Of course, the margin of error is 30% as well.

StatyPolly:

Give it up, Paleo. The House was lost months ago, and the margin is meaningless.

Even if GOP gets veto proof majority.

If the Republicans take control of the House what are they going to do?

Dave:

Well, let's see. First of all, they're going to put Paul Ryan in control of the Budget Committee. Second, I hope they put Jeff Flake in control of one of the pork committees.

That seems like a wonderful place to start.

Hey, those are interesting ideas, Dave.

All I had was "just say NO to BOBO on everything, sit around on their asses, twiddle thumbs, hang out at bars and strip joints, and sexually harass underage pages" would be good enough for me, and do wonders for the economy and the nation as a whole. You know, same old, same old.

But yours are good too.
