Obama's poll numbers have always been down when he has been overseas. It started before he was elected; Mccain had a good week at home when Obama made his European tour. I remember Mccain taking a 8 point lead. Obama has to do his job, but right now more Americans need him here in the states.

Q and now PPP have him below 50. Rass has him at 46....and Fox, though it has not been posted yet has him at 46 approval today. We could be seeing a new phase of downward trend as he continues to engage in policies that are simply opposed by a majoirty of people.

Wait, I thought network tv polls are a joke, Stillow? It's always good to see how much of a hypocrite you are. And Ras approval has been around the 40's for awhile. Now, you notice?

Wong:

Obama's advisors need to keep him home. The image of Nero fiddling while Rome burns is very real. Americans are generally unsettled by the President's globetrotting while unemployment is over 10% and rising and it is beginning to show

If we had wanted him to be Secretary of State, we would have elected Hillary for the top job.

Rass is network tv? Gallup is network tv? PPP?

Are you libs physically incapable of reading?

I said only liberal media connected pollsters are showing him high........get some glasses or soemthing.

And no we all noticed Ras's approval, but now other pollsters are starting to show that same range.....again, buy some damn glasses and learn to read.

Xenobion:

The trend graph is pretty much unchanged if anything its only reversing the past couple days of his gains. A fluke spike problably.

Oh noz! McCain will win now.

I am talking about Foxnews poll. You have no problem with their polls. That's the network polls I am talking about. Fox is a news network.

Read sometimes. I don't really get freaked out about favorable ratings at this point. Clinton had low approval ratings in his first two years, yet he won the re-election. But, I love pointing out your hypocrisy.

RussTC3:

I hate doing this, but the numbers seemed suspect to me and the internals prove there is something seriously wrong with this survey. Especially when you look at this:

Who did you vote for President last year?
Obama 47
McCain 45

Wow, I could have sworn the President won with 53% of the vote and by a 7-point margin in 2008.

LOL. As expected the rest of the internals are equally bad.

So according to this poll, the President enjoys the support of 100% of people who voted for him and 4% of those who didn't. So by that logic, if the election were to be held today he would win with something like 55% of the vote.

Why even spend money doing the survey if you're going to get results so out of touch with reality.

Send me your address and I will buy you a pair of glasses. Let me say it for the umpteenth time, only LIBERAL CONNECTED MEDIA OUTLETS have him at high numbers. Unless you want to claim Fox is liberal then just go away....

Stillow says that liberal networks are bad but conservative channels are good. LOL.

Channels??? Don't you mean channel? Did I say bad or good? No....I simply pointed out that liberal media outlets such as ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT and CNN regualrly give Obama higher approval ratings than do non liberal media connected pollsters.

Makes ya go hmmmmmmmmmmm!

Oh no fox has barack obama at 46%. The horror. A republican propaganda wing has barack at 46%. what a surprise. It's all over now. The world will now end for dems. oh please this poll is a joke as well. Ras I can deal with but fox please.Majority of polls have near or above 50%. S I don't think barack has anything to worry about.

Xenobion:

I want the NYT channel, where do I get that? Is it on an HBO package?

____________________

Stillow:

Just turn on msnbc X....same thing as NYT, they both use the same exact set of talking points each day....one is just in print and one is in video.

____________________

saywhat90:

Which only proves that both sides have a polling bias.

____________________

Stillow:

Well ya I guess if you want to call PPP and Q right wing pollsters for having numbers similar to Rass and Fox........I'll have to accept that I guess.

____________________

Xenobion:

Q is actually liberal as it is managed by CBS pollsters and liberal College elites that abort babies.

PPP is the new name of the KKK so its obviously biased.

____________________

saywhat90:

I never called Q or PPP right wing.Nor did I call ras right wing. Fox yes. I mean both sides as in network polling. But yes I do believe all pollsters have an agenda they want to bring across.

I don't care whether they are liberal conservative or independent. They all have a bias. I have always found PPP questionable. And I don't think they are a liberal polling group. There numbers have been way off lately. They had hoffman winning by 17 points in ny-23. How can I take a polling group seriously when its been that far off in a poll. Even Chuck todd find s PPP questionable.

Farleftandproud:

The problem for Obama is he has so many issues to deal with including war, a deficit he had to deal with from day 1 and a rising unemployment rate. Health care was a promise that the father of the modern Democratic party, Ted Kennedy defined for 46 years. His spirit is still with us and for Democrats, and Snowe and Collins must see health care reform as a means to providing affordable care which will help reduce our personal debt. The right wing groups like Conservatives for patients rights have indeed done a good job at distorting the truth. The theory that health care reform in the midst of a recession will make things worse is ludicrous. If health care reform doesn't happen in any respect than the costs will be far more wasteful and greater.

____________________

Farleftandproud:

THe bottom line is supporters of the public option are in the majority and those who support the Senate and house's version of reform is not very strong. I believe that has a lot to do with many sceptical white independents and yes, some White progressives including Dennis Kucinich. The idea of compromising for us progressives is sometimes hard to do. Many progressives live in districts with Democrats who they think are too conservative, so it is obvious that the polls are showing that there is a lack of unity on how to legislate health care reform. It will all change once it is passed and signed. Democrats have tried to build a bridge and are 2/3 to victory.

All presidnets have to deal with issues. Whining about having to deal issues is stupid, don't run for the ob if you cannot handle it. Bush inheireted huge financial scandals like Enron and Worldcom, a stock bubble that had popped, the start of a recession...9/11 hit in the first year......so thats the presidents job is to lead thru tough times.

A majoirty from poll after poll after poll show a majoirty do not support the current health care reforms being proposed by obama and congress....spin all you want about public options....fact is polling shows the people do not want the reforms being proposed.

Obama's #'s are dropping because his policies are unpopular. This fiasco about health care, htis fiasco about moving KSM to the criminal courts...the lsit goes and on of unpopular positions his administration istaking. That is why his numbers are falling.

Personal likability can only keep you above 50 for so long, eventually poor leadership catches up to you.

26% really believe that ACORN stole the election? They really believe that was possible, that ACORN was somehow able to fake tens of millions of votes without a shred of actual evidence?

I wonder how many of those people also believe that Elvis is alive and well, or that the "Moon Landing" took place on a soundstage in Burbank?

I'd really like to see what Obama's health care plan is that 40% support and 52% disapprove of. I've seen a House Bill, and hopefully soon we'll see a Senate Bill. And after that we might see a conference bill. But I've yet to see the "Obama health care" bill the pollster is asking about.

And Wong, the President isn't "globetrotting". He didn't hop on the gulfstream so he and Michelle could go shopping on the French Rivera. He's doing his job: representing American interests overseas.

Well its common knowledge acorn has registered countless fraudelant voters...from mickey mouse, to the cowboys offensive line....who knows how many total votes that yeiled. Absolutely some of the fraud acorn conducted in registering votes translated int osome actual votes....

"ACORN" is the new "communist." They should probably break themselves up into smaller organizations and change their name.

Whatever...you libs love voter fraud when it favors you guys....acorn is under investigation or actually be persued by state AG's in something like 35 states now for voter fraud........try a litle intelectual honesty for once you libs!

Truthseeker:

AP-GFK, Pew, and Ipsos/McClatchy all have Obama over 50%. Not a TV network among them.

____________________

saywhat90:

First it is not voter fraud. It is voter registration fraud. Two different matters all together. Noone accused of voting under a false name. Noone named mickey mouse voted in the election. The employees were returning false registration info. And guess who turned in the false info. Acorn did it. They were required by law to report any suspicious registration and they did so. They are the ones who cooperated fully with the law enforcement to get those employees who broke the law. They gave that information without being coerced to do so. So they were not in involved in any voter fruad. Not in Minnesota and not nationally.

Oh and speaking o Minnesota...lets see Coleman wins on election night....in a year acorn registered 43,000 voters...then all of a sudden franken wins with help from votes which mysteriously showed up in the trunk of a car.....gee....what amazing luck!

____________________

saywhat90:

Never happened. Coleman's lawyer made it up. The WSJ anf Hanniity ran with it. The story of the 32 absentee ballots is flat wrong. He called up Minneapolis election director Cindy Reichert to get the facts. She (Pawlenty during two Fox appearances in as many days called her “he”) attests the car-ballot story is “just not true”: She never had the ballots in her car — nor were they in anyone’s car for several days — and they were kept in secure facilities between election day and vote counting. It was Coleman’s attorney, Fritz Knaak, who told reporters, “We were actually told ballots had been riding around in her car for several days, which raised all kinds of integrity questions.” From there, the Wall Street Journal picked up on it and reported it as fact; similar to Hannity’s on-screen graphic (shown above), the error appeared in a story headlined “Mischief in Minnesota?” So it was complete fabrication propagated by the Conservative Media Elite to tarnish a perefectly legitamite election result.
