So have our resident cherry-pickers finally exhausted themselves? Shouldn't they be jumping all over the last couple days in this poll?
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:02 AM
@DTM
The cherry-pickers are obsessed by the spread, rather than the support levels, so from their point of view this is not a good poll.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:07 AM
Another bad day for Obama. PA is headed for the red team.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:10 AM
Let the cherry picking begin! And if you could read SA, you'd notice Obama's lead in that poll has actually doubled, so no, PA's as strong for Obama as ever.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:16 AM
viper you are a child and your opinion means nothing

PA is going red quickly

southern angler, you are a racist POS, why does your opinion mean anything? And I have a very strong hunch that I am older than you.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:24 AM
Also, facts are not opinion, they are facts. Something very foreign to the Republican Party.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:26 AM
Obama had a bad day on the 27th. This poll is back to +8 by Sat. when it falls off. It's just noise.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:28 AM
The filth from McCain continues. This ad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1azQcs-8iI
is described by Andrew Sullivan as "disgusting, stupid, inflammatory and, in its use of Arabic-sounding music, bigoted".
And of course clearly pitched at the Jewish vote.
McCain should be ashamed.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:30 AM
He has no shame.

Joe the Plumber is on Philly talk radio crushing Obama
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:38 AM
He'd be more credible if he wasn't widely known as a fraud.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:39 AM
viper you are a child and your opinion means nothing
Nice trolling attempt, Southern.
But unfortunately for you, he is correct.
The gap in the Pennsylvania polls has WIDENED. Even the Mason-Dixon poll has DOUBLED the Obama lead since it's last version.
So I ask you this: Can you please provide to us the evidence you see out there that PA is sure to go "red?"
What overwhelming evidence are you looking at?
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:41 AM
Joe the Plumber is "crushing" Obama?
I think I'd rather accept Francis Fukuyama's or Warren Buffett's opinion over Joe's, but, hey, whatever gets you through the night.
(You do know who Fukuyama is, right?)
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:44 AM
Well, I am glad to hear that Joe the Plumber is crushing Obama. hat will make me change my mind and vote for McCain.
I'm sure he is qualified. Probably more so than Palin.
How many colleges did he go to to become a plumber?
Oh wait, he never did get his liscense. What? He flunked out of Plumbing school?
This campaign has turned into a reality show!
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:44 AM
@southern angler:
"Joe the Plumber is on Philly talk radio crushing Obama"
Shame he wasn't at McCain's rally, hehe.
Palin/Plumber for 2012. Yeah!
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:45 AM
I just learned last night at a dinner party there is going to be a HUGE underground retaliation against blacks if Obama wins. They went on to say that the blacks will be the first ones to lose their jobs due to the higher taxes imposed by Obama, simply based on their racial voting bias. I guess you reap what you sew.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:46 AM
It's "you reap what you sow".
But, again, whatever.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:49 AM
And, southern angler, I don't think having chicken wings in your cousins double-wide can be considered a "dinner party."
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:51 AM
Joe the Plumber is on Philly talk radio crushing Obama
Really?
Is this the same "Joe the Plumber" who is:
-not a plumber
-makes $40K per year, instead of the inflated number he suggested
-lied about the profits of the business he wanted to buy, saying it was over $250,000 when it was only $100,000 or so
-said yesterday that a vote for Obama is...and I quote..."death to Israel."
-was royally owned by FOX NEWS (!!!) yesterday when he went on TV and was asked to defend that statement. What does it say when even Fox News says "There is no evidence that Obama believes that and on the contrary, he has always said quite the opposite." ??
-has hired a public relations firm to enhance his ability to squeeze every dollar he can out of his fifteen-minutes of fame
-now wants to record a country-music album (a serious "LOL" at this one)
-thinks that he has a legitimate shot at successfully running for the House in 2010...even though the seated incumbent has an astronomically high approval rating and Joe's experience level makes Sarah Palin look like Hennry Kissinger
Is that the guy you are referring to?
Here's what I think:
I think that John McCain has completely lost control over his own campain. Consider this - He actually has a generic citizen running around with him on the trail, spewing anti-semetic hate while he blatantly tries to cash in on the spotlight right in front of hte candidate....and MCCAIN ALLOWS IT!
Wow...
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:52 AM
@southern angler
You are a racist and a homophobe -- I haven't forgotten your comments the other night.
I sugest you take your hate politics and scuttle off to some site that caters for bigots.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:52 AM
@johncoz
That makes sense. I was thinking of all the "momentum" posts recently, but it is true most of those were associated with polls also indicating a tight margin. The lone exception that occurs to me is the R2K poll, but I guess their practice is to mentally adjust that poll to a close margin on the alleged undersampling of Republicans.
Incidentally, that really is a vile ad. But fortunately it seems that people just flat out agree with Obama on this issue, no matter how much 24-style imagery McCain wraps it in.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:54 AM
Mark,
Southern Angler has to go. I would rather read an innocent curse or two than his/her racist ranting.
Sick stuff. Ban Southern Angler!!!!!!!
Southern,
You are a sick human being. I have plenty of Republican friends and family who are decent people. What is the purpose of your comment. Dinner Party? What was it, a KKK barbecue in your backyard?
Stop the hate. We are all Americans and we all need to come together or we are doomed...

Ah, yes. Yet another trolling attempt.
Who was your source?

I'm just telling you all what I heard. Is free speech a crime? This is still a free country for now.
Posted on October 30, 2008 11:57 AM
@southern angler:
Then their will be a lot of rich black people after the "retaliation," as a result of the winning lawsuits filed for wrongful termination.

Just remember nearly all of your CEO's, presidents. vice presidents and managers conservative whites, maybe there is something to it. I am not a manager so I have no real influence on anyones job.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:02 PM
Mark
Please ban these socialist from this website, they are saying things that I don't agree with.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:05 PM
@southern angler:
"I'm just telling you all what I heard. Is free speech a crime? This is still a free country for now."
What "you heard" was a racist threat aimed at tearing apart the American social fabric. By retailing it here, without censure or condemnations, marks you as every bit as racist as the person who uttered the words in the first place. Worse, in fact, since you seek to publish to a wider audience.
It could perhaps be forgiven as an "oversight", except it is completely consistent with many previous comments you have made.
Free speech has nothing to do with it. You just exercised that right. But don't expect to go unchallenged, and be asked to take your rancid opinions elsewhere.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:16 PM
Hey numbnuts
I don't censure or condem other peoples comments, I'm not a racial socialist like you.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:23 PM
Southern,
So the purpose of your comment was to convince people like me to switch my vote back to McCain because I would then be helping all these black people from losing their jobs?
You know what, I admit I was wrong. It is your constitutional right to free speech. Keep it coming Southern. Convince me some more. I think I am starting to see the light...
A vote for McCain/Palin is a vote for hope and keeping all the AA working. Otherwise, they lose their jobs and Socialist America will have to give them handouts.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:23 PM
You can't expect to post hate and racism and have people NOT call you out for stupidity.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:30 PM
It's all just chatter, take from it what you will. I really don't care how you vote. Just thought you may be interested in all things related to this election, but now I see that you guys are only interested in the chat that you agree with. It's really quite boring.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:31 PM
viper,
I agree. I am just handing Southern the shovel so he can dig some more...
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:33 PM
viper and purle = two stupid dogs sniffing each other ass.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:34 PM
Purple: Carry on.
Southern: We discuss facts. I know that word is foreign to you, so, to cut a long explanation short, it involves reality. Hence the reason nothing you say has any credibility anymore.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:35 PM
5 days till an Obama landslide. woohoo!!
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:36 PM
Just keep tell yourself that, maybe someday you will believe your own words.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:36 PM
Southern Angler posts on the website to distract people from the obvious which is that McCain is getting his a$$ crushed.
This poll shows an Obama lead of +6. McCain is losing so badly in the battleground states that people in his own party are saying that he's running a losing campaign.
Disregard, the trolls and focus on whats happening in reality. Don't focus on what someone heard. That's stupidity.
Hotline National
Obama +6
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:44 PM
Back to the polls. RCP reports Obama's lead in VA, CO and PA in now cut in half from last week.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:44 PM
Today state polls are now following Obama massive slide in the national polls
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:47 PM
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:49 PM
Southern,
5 more days. Tick tock tick tock.
Hard to turn all these States around. Especially without telling Independents like me what he will do to turn this country around. McCain had me in 2000 but lost me in 2008. Why do you think that is? Because all of a sudden I'm a Socialist? Cut the name calling and objectively look at how he made a mockery out of this campaign. Admit it. Go ahead. Its your first step towards rehabilitation...
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:50 PM
It's in no way a massive slide, it's just the usual case of "buyer's remorse" that happens all the time in elections where there's a heavy favorite. Bill Clinton was a heavy favorite in '92 but the polls showed just 2-4 point difference in the final two days. Ronald Reagan was poised to win but the polls also got within 3 points toward the end. But hey, they both won decisively. So yeah, it's expected for polls to close the gap before election day, and I expect them to get within 2 points by Monday, unless the Obama ad does a final boost over the weekend.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:51 PM
@angler
you are the worst troll ever.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:51 PM
Angler,
can't be bothered to answer all three equally preposterous suggestions, but please look at the graph for CO for starters.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/co/colorado_mccain_vs_obama-546.html
Then look up the other two. Then come back and repeat your nonsense.
Posted on October 30, 2008 12:52 PM
RCP today reports
VA +4O
PA +4O
CO +4O
This confirms Obama's numbers are cut in half.
You guys better look toward the sky, there is a huge dark cloud blowing in.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:03 PM
Southern Angler,
Still waiting for your follow up to the rumor about Blacks losing their jobs after Obama wins. You caught my attention and am wondering if it is enough to change my vote back to McCain. I supported the man in 2000 and am now leaning towards Obama. Go ahead and convince me otherwise.
Admit it. His campaign has been a disaster. Only you can save my vote.
The polls have had minimal change. Usual noise, nothing more. State polls are solid for Obama. As long as everyone goes out and votes we will finally have a change we can hope in.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:06 PM
Maybe Obama can run for president in Kenya, since things just aren't working out here. Oh yeah and he is also a citizen of Kenya, that should help too.
Purple= boring, ignored
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:09 PM
PO "SAngler" "Joe the Plumber is on Philly talk radio"
Oh, why did McCain think he was at his rally in Ohio? Joe went AWOL? Maybe McCain forgot that Joe wasn't gonna be there to prop him up? Or maybe his camapign didn't tell him that Joe was ditching him?
Typical. And we expect this group of incompetants to lead the country? McCain can't even order Joe to stay away from his "self-promotion" tour.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:10 PM
My bad....he is actually Indonesian
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:12 PM
The thing I find so ironic from neanderthals like angler is they bat around the term "socialist" without giving any thought to the meaning.
If there is ANY socialist candidate in this race, it is Barbie Palin. Governor Barbie's state actually provides EVERY man, woman, and child with a check for several thousand dollars every year for doing NOTHING. They charge the oil companies HUGE fees to drill in Alaska, then divide the money up among all citizens. Governor Barbie even INCREASED the amount of the payments.
Not only can she see Russia fron her house, but I can see Russia from her state's welfare policies.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:15 PM
Angler,
I may be boring but I am informed.
You are just a racist.
By the way, having dual citizenship is not a crime.
How about expanding your horizons. Let go a little.
Let some hope in...
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:16 PM
"southern angler:
I just learned last night at a dinner party there is going to be a HUGE underground retaliation against blacks if Obama wins. "
Well, I guess that Mark and pollster will likely have to refer your name to the Justice Dept. and FBI if such events by your White Supremecist buddies actually comes to fruition. You'll be called in for interrogation.
There's a difference between Freedom of Speech and discussing knowledge of a criminal enterprise. As well your act could be seen as "voter intimidation". Saying that people are going to be the subject of violence by people you know could be viewed as such UNLESS you disclose the sources of your claims so that they can be criminally prosecuted.

Angler is a dimwit!!
Unfortunately, McCain surrounded himself with the same dimwits. How incompetent can you be to not tell your boss that Joe the plumber was AWOL!!!!!
You're right. Do we really think that these guys were going to run the country any better than Bush and his cronies?
Stop! Take a look at how a campaign should be run. Amazing I am actually saying that about the Democrats.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:21 PM
Wow RCP now has foxnews showing another huge drop in Obama's national numbers. They now show Obama only up by three. This is incredible.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:26 PM
Southern - Obama is like a lot of American citizens. He is eligible to be a citizen in other countries because of his heritage. But he is a natural born citizen.
We are a nation of immigrants. My wife could claim German citizenship...even though her family has been US citizens for three generations. That's simply because Germany accepts a fairly broad definition of how German descent affects citizenship. Sarah Palin asserts that her husband and children are members of the "Yup'ik nation" even though they have 1/16th and 1/32nd Yup'ik ancestry, respectively.
Lot's of Cuban-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Canadian-Americans and Jewish-Americans have the "right" to claim another nationality. It's interesting that you seem to think that the fact that they "could" do so would disqualify them from being US citizens.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:28 PM
And Fox Noise should be taken seriously why?
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:30 PM
Angler...I'm just pointing out
a) that you are making yourself susceptible to a criminal investigation. Watch what you say.
and,
b) By attacking people who have ancestry that make them eligible for dual-citizenship you are actually giving a lot of US native-born and naturalized citizens a great reason not to vote for McCain-Palin.
Posted on October 30, 2008 1:32 PM
