Xenobion:

Obama's overall popularity average is starting a slight uptick, wonder what made that happen.

Field Marshal:

The last CBS polling from a month ago had him at 56. But your right, in the last week or so we've seen most polling rise from 50-51 to 53-54. Its probably cyclical gyrations around his popular vote percentage. When he gets 5 points above or below his 53% popular vote percentage, that will be a significant move.

There goes that damn liberal media again! How dare they inflate Obama's numbers like this! You know what cracks me up from 1968-1988 the GOP won 5 out of 6 presidential elections with the so called "liberal media". One day the GOP is going to wake up and realize that their love affair with the religious right, in addition to the fact that they have done so poorly with minority voters is hurting them more than anything else on the national stage.
Earth to The GOP- You used to win the suburbs in the northeast and the west coast and you don't anymore because you insist on giving creedence to lunatics like Miss Alaska. Take a lesson from Chris Christie in NJ when Miss Alaska asked if she could campaign for him he said a resounding NO (gee I wonder why). Even Bob McDonnell was smart enough to shy away from her. And look at the nut in NY-23 who welcomed her and Glen Beck with open arms...hmmm?

Just like clockwork....here come the networks to make sure Obama polls in the 50's. as sure as the sun comes up in the morning, the networks will be there for him.

Hmmm, I wonder if these poll numbers are FORGED or real..........pathetic, why cbs even has one viewer is amazing.

Heheh, lat still thinks ny 23 was a dem victory and not a GOP screw up.

Field Marshall and Stillow,

Your are right. Only Rasmussen and Fox News are legit everyone else is part of a plot to prop up Obama. I can't thank you enough for pointing this out.

I'm going to take a page from Stillow's playbook and engage in broad, sweeping generalizations. You repubs are so intent on blaming everything - the media (especially the media), universities, France, the moon phases - for your pitiful and unfortunate situation except yourselves. I'm sorry that people aren't subscribing to your tarnished brand of nothingness. I'm not sorry that people are approving of Obama - which they are, this is just not some fabrication of your phantom menace "the liberal media." You repubs need to stop your blame game and start, you know, thinking. I know education is highly correlated with liberalism, but that's no reason to be afraid of it.

Your another one that needs meds Boom. Take it easy. No one is out to get you. No need to wear that tin foil helmet. "THEY" are not coming for you...

Field Marshal:

First couple comments are normal than a lib has to come on and regurgitate their anger about Reps that has nothing to do with the poll. Why? I just don't get why libs are always so angry and agitated.

Boomshak Don't Step to This:

FM, buddy, I was just channeling your soulmate Stillow while hitting on your own paranoia. Seems like it hit pretty close to home.

____________________

Stillow:

Ahhhh, I am not in any pain...I'm probably better off than most people. Only libs equate education with wisdom.

Its funny to watch you guys actually try and claim the MSM is not i nthe tank for Obama. The WH actually meets routinely with media personalities fro mthe networks...geeee, talking points perhaps?

Sometimes I wish I ould live i nthe fantasy land you libs create around you, but some of us have to work and earn money....so you guys can steal it and spend it. If not for me paying all your bills, what would you do? Ask your pals in France for a bailout?

____________________

Field Marshal:

MY PARANOIA??!? Thats a laugh. I simply posted about the poll. You and your typical liberal anger turned it into another mundane liberal rant that is typical of today's political conversation. Everything is the Reps fault and the Dems can do nothing wrong. If only the Reps had more minority voters, than their problems will go away. Talk about Paranoia. Talk about stupidity is more like it.

Boomshak Don't Step to This:

Hey, I'm not the one writing in all caps. Calmer than you are...calmer than you are.

____________________

Field Marshal:

Sure... sure you are. The reps are coming for you... the reps are coming for you. And they are going to take your precious minority voters... boo!!! LOL.

Xenobion:

Alot of conservatives are sort of butt-hurt over their withering base of people that support their issues so come here and Politico to voice their opinion like they are a silent majority. I'd be pretty angry too. I'm just curious what will replace the dying Republican party or maybe a good VH1 special of "Where are they now?: Republicans." lol :D

____________________

Stillow:

Take it easy on Boom FM....he probably lives in a real congressional district so he hasn't seen any improvement in jobs...and thus he is very frustrated. We should pitch in and offer to help him move to a phantom district where jobs are being created....it is afterall our moral duty to assist.

____________________

Stillow:

X...ahhh yes, the dying GOP....those pesky republicans who just killed you guys in VA...won all 3 of the top seats for only the second time....won the governorship by nearly 20 points....the dying GOP who just won in deep blue NJ.

Yep, the GOP is dead....no silent majoirty there....the GOP probably pulled a Franken and found al lthe votes in there cars.

____________________

Field Marshal:

Yeah, i remember the GOP saying the Dems were dead in 2004. Same was said of the GOP in 1976. Its laughable but to think that the majority of folks arent in the Dem party wont like the far left nuttiness coming out of washington by Obama, Pelosi and Reid is just crazy, right?

____________________

Xenobion:

Good point Stillow. Conservatives losing all their Federal seat positions now have to resort to winning State held positions like Governor, that's where they'll end up as little novelties that don't pass any legislation.

____________________

Stillow:

X, losing all there feeral seats? Really, that is news to me....early polls showing the GOP picking up seats in 2010. When you add up hte conservatives in the house from both parties, they outnumber the libs when added up....same i nthe Senate!

Watch out, Obama got 52.8 percent...its all over for the GOP!!!!!!!!!!! You guys never change.

____________________

Xenobion:

Last I checked Dems own the Executive, and both the House and Senate. Dems who did not vote on Healthcare are not conservative but easily protected their seat.

Dems grew in the house in 2009. Republicans shrank in 2009.

Please show me the polls for 2010. So far Generic Democrat is beating Generic Republican in every poll.

lol this is too easy to write like this.

____________________

Stillow:

Hit your back button and look at polling in FL, NC, NV, CT, etc, etc....repubs are doing qutie well right now in polling. Face it, conservatives outnumber libs everywhere....

...your right Dems control everything, but ooooops! Ya still can't even pass your saviors #1 issue, HCR....just to many of those pesky conservatives dems i nthe way........your right, its to easy.

____________________

Stillow:

Its getting so bad for the Dems X, they are making things up and actually publishing it on the web....they are to the point where they ar eclaiming job creation and jobs saved in districts that do not even exist. Humpty Dumpty is about to fall off the wall.

____________________

Xenobion:

I don't expect Dems to lose either CT or NV after adjustments are in. Fivethrityeight.com agrees with me.

Aside that half these states are running open primaries or have a republican incumbant I don't know how you can spin that as a win for conservatives.

I expect healthcare to be hard to pass, there's too many people to please in such an issue. I would never expect Republicans to be able to pass a comprehensive healthcare bill and rightly they've never made one.

All I know is not even 25% of America calls themself a Republican anymore while somewhere around 37% of Americans call themself a Democrat. Republicans abandoned conservative issues like fiscal spending 8 years ago and they are paying the price for it.

Obama is my savior but where's the republican savior? I can't seem to find him/her.

____________________

Xenobion:

But since liberals control the government and the mainstream media its going to be spinned as a win and they'll win again. Its easy to win "Its The Economy Stupid" campaign for the Dems.

Disapprove 45.8%
Approve + 4.9%

November 11-17, 2009

Disapprove 42.7%
Approve + 9.5%

"Republicans abandoned conservative issues like fiscal spending 8 years ago and they are paying the price for it."

Be careful, you are sounding like a conservative there. Most of us who put being conservative ahead of being a Republican agree with that statement. And it is is exactly the point you see most conservatives making on this site. Return to conservatism and the GOP will win a lot more elections.

It is good to see a Lib admit that embracing conservatism is the right path for the GOP.

"...where's the republican savior?"

I actually agree with that statement also. When we see all of the polls about Republicans running in 2012 I have often said my first choice is none of the above. I can't seem to find the right person either. Yet. But there is a lot of time before 2012. Realistically a serious candidate still has 18+ months to get in the game. Even longer if things go just right for whoever it may be.

"Last I checked Dems own the Executive, and both the House and Senate"

Your comments show that you are very aware that your window of opportunity is closing. Most Americans are not if favor of BO's far left agenda and you guys know it. Strike now or lose the dream of govt "helping" everyone from cradle to grave.

I think the Field Marshall has it right. Obama basically has the ones that brung him to the dance. Until the unemployment numbers show decline, his numbers won't show significant improvement. What is impressive, however, are his likeability numbers which are indicative of his potential popularity when the economic outlook brightens. He is set to pound the GOP hard in 2012.

The affirmative act of voting for Obama was I believe, a powerful one. Those who did so will resist hard and long the notion that such a vote was "stupid" In psychological terms it's known as cognitive dissonance. Absent some unseen celestial event or political scandal, I would not expect that to happen. You can always click your heels together, squeeze your eyes closed, and repeat "No more Obama, No more Obama."

We'll keep an eye on the polls and see how that works for ya.

Correct Wong. Although Bush's numbers moved because of 9/11, he didn't really lose the indies that voted for him until year 6. I highly doubt that Obama has that long given the employment situation.

Are you a caricature of a conservative or are you actually serious? It's all there, it's unbelievable! :D The MSM conspiracy, mocking education, equating your political opponents to lazy thieves, the massive amount of typos and even France bashing! This is a classic post! :D

I mean, seriously..."Only libs equate education with wisdom." Oh yes, Stillow, it's clear that you have wisdom which you didn't receive through education...perhaps you have that through "common sense"?
