This poll seems off. Only 61% have a favorable or unfavorable opinion about Palin? Strange...

Palin isnt going to run in 2012. I bet she runs for a house seat or waits a few more years and goes after Begish's senate seat.

Oddly low numbers. I suspect the margin (-15) is about right, though.

@Field Marshal: I don't think so. Palin doesn't strike me as having the political (or personal) patience necessary to spend six years as a legislator. Far more likely is that she'll have presidential ambitions, and if that really is the case she won't want Begich's seat anyway. Why? Because most candidates these days announce their candidacies early in the year before the general election. If she were to beat Begich in November 2014 and commence her term in January 2015, she would literally be declaring her candidacy for the Presidency just a few weeks after being sworn into the Senate. That would just seem like a farce.

Obama didn't wait very long after winning a senate seat!!

I don't think she will run for congress. If she runs it will be for president. Her message is based on being a nomral person, someone outside the beltway...not a typical washington politican....running for congress would screw that up for her. If she runs for president she will want to run on being a true outsider offering common sense solutions that make sense to middle america. will it work? Beats me.

I know this, her base loves her, she definately energizes...her crowds were larger than obama's at many of her events and she was just the VP option. More people tuned into her convention speech than did obama...so people, love or hate want to see what she has to say....she has the ability to grab attention....and that can be a powerful asset or a huge liability. I think the medai beig so anti palin actually helps her in the long run.

She defiantley throws a big wrench into the mix when trying to figure out 2012.

I guess I woul dbe in the undecided column about voting for her...i could not do it now, but I am also not totally closing the door on her either.

I just love this phrase:

"...offering common sense solutions that make sense to middle america."

That's a classic line straight from the Republican anti-intellectual line of thinking. Replace "common sense" with "not too complicated/scientific/rational" and "middle america" with "people from the South who are the real Americans" and you get the full picture.

I love these common sense arguments. Yes, you're going to solve the toughest economic crisis of the last 80 years or so by using "common sense" - after all, every mom after cooking dinner and taking care of the family has enough knowledge and "common sense" to solve huge complicated problems. That is how the world works for most Republicans at the moment. :D

Common sense? She doesn't have the commons sense to read a newspaper or magazine to learn the issues.

She's a non-factor on Facebook and publishing a book for quick cash. She may energize the base of republicans but she energizes independents and dems to vote against her.

X, are those the same indy's who are now fleeing obama like he is a sinking ship?

I see you libs still have your war against common sense.....do you guys ever upgrade your playbook?

What an empty response. I've noticed before you're a coward and you seem to continue down that road. That's cool, it's just funny how there's no substance behind the talking points. We can disagree and argue about politics and policies but these silly, completely empty phrases like "common sense solutions" are just too funny and ridiculous not to comment on.

But carry on Stillow, it's not like you've stood up to defend your empty talking points before.
