@tjampel: Obama seems to be well ahead of his party. Remember, we're talking about favourable ratings here, not job approval ratings. Just as the Democrats in Congress have a much lower approval rating than the favourable rating of the Democratic Party, Obama as President has a lower job approval rating than his favourable rating.

For this exact reason why 2010 will not be 1994. Unless something changes that is. You can only ditch the Dems so quickly after we ditched the Repubs.

Not so different for Obama today at least. ARG's result is kind of high. I agree that individual Congressional leaders have much lower approval ratings.
