If this is from a Democratic Pollster it is full of crap. I wouldn't be surprised that the voters are so damn stupid and wishy washy. What happened to all the people who voted for Obama last Oct? Where are those people in your state in these polls? Where are the people who came out to vote out George Allen for Senate? Progressives must unite and work hard to discredit the Fox news and Rush Limbaugh/Ann Coultier lies that are poisoning America.

Obama's supporters, young leftwingnuts and blacks, couldn't care less about a pathetic loser like Deeds. You might see them again in 2012.

Actually, I think bongocongo is pretty much right. Most of the Obama coalition couldn't give a crap about the governor's race in general and Deeds specifically. It's frustrating, but in their defense, Deeds hasn't expended much effort at all to win these voters. He's pretty much based his whole candidacy around trying to win rural white voters instead of energizing the base. And by the way, his campaign has also been one of the sloppiest and most inept that I can recall.

But it's not a monumental tragedy. Virginia's had two Democratic governors in a row, two Democratic senators and it went for Obama in 2008 (and will probably go for him again in 2012). But Virginia's still not Massachusetts. You can't win them all. And if this is anti-Obama energy, well, the Virginia governorship is a small price to pay for meaningful health care reform, which is happening right now because of Obama.
