I'm surprised Obama's numbers are at 50 in VA. Pretty good result, and indicative that Virginia may be the new bellweather instead of Missouri.

It is typical that Virginia Republicans have had their demise in the late summer. McDonnell's previous discoveries from his disertation at Holy Roller University comes nearly 3 years after the Mccacca statement. Hopefully the voters will be too smart to vote for Mcdonnell; I don't say this because I am a progressive, but Mcdonnell is beyond being just pro life and opposed to gay rights; he refers to them as fornicators. It may have it's place in the Baptist church, but not very statesmanlike. I can't believe Mcdonnell never addressed this issue before he started running, but than again it is typical. Rasmussen is always misleading though, so I am sure the actual lead Mcdonnell has is a lot more narrow. I think if my desk was really green, Rasmussen would find some way to say it was blue.

Hopefully every single self respecting women in Virginia regardless of politicial affiliation will remember Mcdonnel's writings encouraging woman to stay home with the family, and a man has to be head of the household, not as a topic of debate in the 21st century. This may have had it's place in the 1950's, but my gosh, many conservative woman have to work too! Our economic climate in the 21st century makes this inevitable unless she is lucky enough to married to a man who makes a significantly high income. There isn't anything wrong with woman staying home, but it is an individual choice, not something coming from a governor. Perhaps if the US were Sweden, housewives would get compensation from the state? I challenge mr Mcdonnell to propose this? I dare him.
