I never heard of this Terrence Wall guy. But he seems to have a very good shot at taking down Feingold. Feinguy is under 50% and Obama's upside down. It's a bit of a challenge, but I like what I'm seeing.

I honestly think that Rasmussen could put up a candidate in VT to go against Pat Leahy and it would probably show them in a close race.

I love how just after Thompson says he wont run, Rasmussen comes out with a poll that shows that Westlake and Wall are close behind while before hand they were not even viable challengers. Is Rasmussen trying to play games. Do we really think that Wall and Westlake have gotten so popular so fast. Just admit it Rasmussen, Feingold stays till 2016. No matter how you distort the data to make Republicans look good, Feingold (and a handful of other Incumbent Dems) are safe.

Fiengold will hold this seat, no matter how hard Rasmussen tries.

Ah, good old Republicmussen. Even they couldn't put out a poll with Feingold trailing these nobodies. But they made sure one of them kept it close.

How is it even possible that Rasmussen found a polling sample of 500 Wisconsinites where more of them have knowledge/opinions about Feingold than Leinenkugel?

I'm a political scientist by training and I have a much stronger opinion about my beer than my Senators, I refuse to believe that the same does not hold true for a layperson.

While Leinekugel is a popular beer, it's not that well known and I don't think that many people would approve or disapprove of someone because they own a beer company. I'm assuming you're just being sarcastic?

Yes, sarcastic and thirsty over here. Is it happy hour yet?

I have begun to see patterns with Rasmussen on these senate races. The margin of error is about 4-7 points. In reality I would say Feingold is ahead of the leading GOP candidate by 10. In NC, they are way off. I trust PPP more than Rasmussen. I would say that Burr is probably ahead of his competitors by 8. I predict Harry Reid will close the gap after Lowden's "pay for your doctor's visit's in chickens". It can be the heart of Reid's campaign.

Last time a Beer man ran for US Senate was Pete Coors in Colorado. A pro-life conservative Catholic who supported Obama's abstinence programs, didn't check out his ad agency carefully enough. Sen. Salazar had a great time playing beer commercials and showing bikini clad young women getting picked up by guys in exchange for beer. Those ads said it all.

very funny!!! far left yeah it's strange. now that Thompson's not running, all of the other candidates are so much closer now than they were before. Feingold's favorability is higher than any of the other candidates. Although once again, there are no undecideds regarding Feingold or Obama. At least it isn't 101% Scott this time.

Re: the chicken comment by Sue Lowden. SNL writers couldn't write a parody of Republican politicians that would match this. The actual comments are funnier than the parodies. Although Kristen Wiig as Greta Van Susteran and Jason Sudekis as Crazy Beck is pretty funny.

Terence Wall is a not-so-well known tax cheat. I'm sure his primary opponents will bring that fact up often.

I'm rather surprised that Rasmussen didn't poll Tommy Thompson.

Last month Ras had it 49-40 for Feingold over Wall. A total of a 3 point swing that is well within the margin of error and you guys are making a big deal about it.

No matter how you cut it, Feingold is fairly safe at this point.
