Would you favor or oppose the government offering everyone a government administered health insurance plan -- something like the Medicare coverage that people 65 and older get -- that would compete with private health insurance plans?
56% Favor, 37% Oppose

Favorable / Unfavorable
Blanche Lincoln: 41 / 49

2010 Senate
Lincoln 41%, Gilbert Baker 39%
Lincoln 43%, Curtis Coleman 38%

If Blanche Lincoln votes against a public option as part of health care reform, will that make you more likely or less likely to vote for her in the 2010 general election or would it have no real effect on your vote?
16% More, 29% Less, 55% No effect

If Blanche Lincoln joined Republican senators in filibustering and killing a health care reform bill because it had a public health insurance option, would that make you more likely or less likely to vote for her in the 2010 general election or would it have no real effect on your vote?

They should also run one for Ben Nelson of Nebraska. I'm sick and tired of these Blue Dogs.

Yes, they should just become Republicans.

This poll indicates that Lincoln will win or lose her re-election on her own merits, not her vote on health care.

And it's yet another poll showing support for the public option.

I figure as fiscal conservatives or what remains of them get some steam, most blue-dogs will be replaced with traditionally liberal democrats or just flat out conservatives. I don't really think its time for a resurgance of Regan Democrats, Blue Dogs, or any other moderates when bipartisanship has been dead for awhile.

Pure garbage.

If you follow the link you end up on a web site called boldprogressives. Gee, I wonder what their agenda is?

I got a really good laugh at the numbers for the NW section of the state. That is one of the most conservative areas you will find anywhere and it says people there are in favor of the public option. This isn't worth taking the time to read.

One of the questions they ask is:

"According to OpenSecrets.org, Blanche Lincoln has taken over $2 million dollars from health and insurance interests. Do you think that money hurts her judgment when voting on health care issues, or not?"

Apparently one of the purposes of this poll is to get out the message that Blanche is heavily influenced by the campaign money she gets from private health insurers. Is that really what polling is all about? Getting out propaganda to support one side or the other.

No, it is in Blanche Lincoln's hands. If she supports health Care reform, the same loyal Democrats who got Bill Clinton elected will show the same support to re-elect her. This poll shows that in a state where 25 percent of the population is uninsured, Lincoln would sign her political death warrant by voting with the GOP or not supporting the public option.

I think one of the comments above about bi-partisanship being dead is right on. 40 percent of Americans define themselves as conservatives yet only 22 percent identify with the GOP. People have gotten tired of politicians in general. I would bet that only 10 percent of the GOP considers themselves moderate rather than conservative, nationwide, whereas with Democrats it is more about 35-40 percent wouldn't consider themselves liberal.
