Where are the Ras whiners?

Grassley is well known in Iowa and to most people they don't know what he is like in Washington. I could see where he probably has done a good job reaching out to his constituents, and I have heard really hates National spotlight and media attention. I used to have a pretty favorable opinion of him personally.

After Obama became president he did everything to be a thorn in the president's side, and in the beginning pretended he would listen to HCR ideas. When he made his statements at town halls in conservative parts of Iowa, he started to buy into the "death panels". I'll never forget the old lady who literally seemed to think Obama's stormtroopers were going to round her up and throw her into a concentration camp for being too old. Grassley agreed with these fanatics on several occasions.

I think it is time to help create some freelance campaign ads; not so much that HCR is likely to be popular in Iowa, but to demonstrate how Grassley has sold out his once reasonable statesmanship into another wing nut.

This race is probably pretty much where Ras places it. Reasonably safe for Grassley. Too bad, because I'd like to see more pressure on Grassley to start working with Dems and Independents such as Lieberman on climate change and other bills with bipartisan potential.

Luger has a reasonable energy bill. Grassley, if he became engaged in the process, might (along with Graham), get energy legislation moving again. It's just a few votes short. I'd like to see this bill as bipartisan as possible.

To see that happen Grassley's numbers would probably have to start moving down into the upper 40s (no evidence of that at all). It's still early but it doesn't seem that Conklin's got the money or org to tear down this entrenched incumbent, who, IMO, tarnished his reputation with his "pull the plug on granny" comments during the HCR debate. He's done some good things though, I admit that. I'll be watching these poll numbers with interest though I doubt I'll see what I'm looking for.
