Two months ago I thought Burr was toast. But I think he is going to be saved by the anti Dem trend in 2010. I had this as a tossup two months ago, but I now think its safe red.

There has been absolutely no change in his polling for the past year. What poll were you looking at 2 months ago? 1/3 of voters remain undecided. I would like some insider info on NC_Raleigh if he comes by today.

I just thought he was toast. After Dole's loss and Obama's victory it looked like a trend devleoping in NC....but I think Burr is saved by recent developments.

One year is a long time in politics. There is only one thing that the 2010 elections will be about; JOBS. If the jobs picture turns around in early 2010, republicans will have a very hard time holding on to the gains they're seeing now.

Still gets his facts from his gut and not from, well, facts.

Essentially meaning against a generic Democrat he would've lost? You're probably right, I'm sure this'll probably be a good race though. A decent field of Democrats from what I've read thus far. Pollingwise its divide and conquer until the non-incumbant party primaries are over.

He's going to saved by anti-Dem trend when he's incumbent with low numbers? Bob Ethridge is a good candidate. I think he can win.

Burr should be safe...unless he starts moving to far left. The former democrat "guvnah", Mike Easley, should be indicted, tried, and jailed next year...which can all be tied back to "Bev" Perdue (the current guvnah) and the corrupt democrats that control both chambers of the legislature. Burr's commercials write themselves here in NC.

It's not Roger Wicker. His name is Dennis Wicker. Roger Wicker is the senator from Mississippi.
