Field Marshal:

I highly doubt Reid will be running in November.

Looks like PPP is already polling on whether Reid should resign and would the voter prefer another Democrat.

Reid may retire after he gets the health care passed. He isn't going to take a risk on losing with poll numbers like this.

Reid's numbers would probably improve when he got more into campaigning, but it's unlikely he would ever lead his opponents, given that he can't break 40 in most polls. He'd be smart, particularly given his controversial comments, to announce he's not running for re-election.

This is why majority leaders should occupy safe seats, not swing seats, or seats in a state that votes the opposite way.

I do not think he will reite. He is a very stubborn and arrogant man. His son is the same way here in NV. The Reid's here do have a solid bas eof support, but its only about 40 percent. He will run just as his son is running for governor...and btoh will lose, hopefully putting an end to the Reid family here in NV plitics.

Yeah it's tough to retire when your son is stepping up to the plate to run for governor. Then again, I'm sure daddy's numbers are dragging Rory down, so perhaps he'd be OK with Harry stepping aside regardless of the implications when it comes to fundraising and general GOTV.

After passing major, it's a great time to cash in with a PAC or lobby group. Who was the Rep who "retired" after helping pass the Drug Benefit and then was hired like a week later by the PharmaPAC for 1-3million a year? He'll retire, like frist, to return to his "practice".

I can just see Hannity on fox news talking about 2010 as a New Historic Election. He'll say, "Hey let's make history again and 2010 can be the first time a father and son team have lost defeat for high office in the same state". I can just see it. Harry Reid simply has put his foot in his mouth enough times that he needs to find someone to run in his place.

Yes, a safe seat for Majority leader for the Democrats. That would be Chuck Schumer.
