funny how this important poll was released late this evening by RR.

results got totally overlooked. in fact, Scott Rasmussen was on Faux/Hannity tonight talking about polls - he NEVER mentioned this one !!!

maybe because they did not fit the MSM narrative of today ???

makes me go hhhmmmm.....

Just 500 LVs? In a state like Pennsylvania they should conduct their polls with larger samples.

The "race" is still stagnant. When polls are outliers or within moes, that negates "movement" like the MSM likes to harp on. See, if they didn't have this to talk about, what would they report on - the continuing deaths in Iraq (oh, wait - that doesn't fit the "the surge worked" BS), or the oil spills in the gulf (oh wait, that doesn't fit the "offshore drilling - yeaah, what a great idea" theme).

It is kinda pathetic how retarded the MSM has become. Gramps screams about how he isn't getting coverage, and so they acquiese and cover him more - never mind that Obama is attracting over 200 K in Berlin. Never mind that Obama is preferred 80-10 in all parts of Europe. Yes, you read that right, 80 to effing 10. Even in Chicago, he doesn't do that well. Our closest allies all prefer him by absolutely ridiculous margins and that's not a major story? But mccain in a sausage house is? Umm, what?? It is quite obvious that the MSM is trying to make the "race" look even or close - it drives up ratings, and that's all they care about. But in the end, and it will be painfully obvious, no one cares about mccain. He is just a sad, old, pathetic remnant of the past. And who wants that?

It'll be funny come election day when all these clowns in the MSM will have egg on their faces....once again. And then the "big" story will be how the polls were so off. What a joke.

Don't let it get out of hand, folks.

Regarding size of sample (To "Starbase"): while I would prefer that Rasmussen had larger samples in general, to capture the "statewide" trends there is in principle no reason to have a larger sample for larger states. The sampling error is the same for a sample of 500 in Pennsylvania as it is for a sample of 500 in Delaware or Nevada or California -- or, for that matter, China or India.

First, don't be jealous - mccain couldn't get 200K to show up to any event, even if he paid people to attend. Of course, when you have a hard time working "the google", you might not be in tune with what normal people want to hear. Maybe he could tell more of his oh-so-popular rape jokes or the wife beating ones that play so well among his supporters. But I digress...

Let me enlighten those still living in the darkness-

Having a president who Europeans (and the rest of the world for that matter) unabashedly LOVE, allows you to do great things. Cooperation comes easily. Respect for the U.S.A will be restored after 8 years of arrogance and complete and utter stupidity from a retarded chimp.

In short, people DO things when you ask, you don't have to threaten them. (Didn't your mother ever teach you, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.)

Let Barack explain just ONE benefit of increased cooperation to ye uninformed:

"If we have more NATO troops in Afghanistan, then that's potentially fewer American troops over the long term, which means we're spending fewer billions of dollars, which means we can invest those billions of dollars in making sure we're providing tax cuts to middle-class families who are struggling with higher gas prices … that will also have an impact on our economy."

Previously, NATO has been unwilling to take on a more substantial role in AF. Does an Obama presidency automatically mean that people will do everything we ask? Of course not, but at least now, they will LISTEN.

He has the people, and that's all he needs.

Of course foreigners prefer The Radical because they want America to be weaker on the world stage. They hate our dominance and kicking a$$ when a$$ needs kicking. Obama would have voted against the war even if Sadam and Iran both had nukes. He's a tree hugging hippie who called himself yesterday a citizen of the world. I'm an American. How is 200k rallies going to lower my gas prices.

more BS from the neo-cons. why am I not surprised??

Are you pathetically arguing that the war in Iraq was a good idea? Wow, derangement knows know bounds with repubs lately. Looks like you have a case of mccainitis.

Anyway, just to refute your lies, here is obama's statement (from 2002!) on wars.

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Barack_Obama's_Iraq_Speech

ooops, someone just got BEATDOWN!! oooo, that hurts!

Obama has always said we should concentrate where the terrorists are, in AF, not Iraq. Any person with a funtioning brain understands this. Apparently there aren't too many of those down in Texas. Just a bunch of war-mongering nut-jobs who think war is "cool", and there aren't consequences - "yea, kick a$$, yea, we bad, kick me some a$$, yeee-haww!"

btw, here is his speech in full, where he also said he was a proud citizen of the USA. I like how you tried to take things out of context to spin your bogus BS. Good try, but it didn't work - as usual.

Funny how I have evidence, and marctx just spews BS. Hmmpf. Guess that's what the sorry troglodytes who still support Bush have left in their weak arsenal. How sad.....

Now seriously - why are we even polling PA? No one - not McCain himself thinks he has a chance of winning it. Show me OH, CO, VA, MI even FL (though not likely to be blue this time).

Though quite frankly - polls at this point don't mean too much. The first ten minutes of the first debate will decide the race. The left is voting left, the right is voting right, and even though there are more left than right, there are more than enough indep to swing this thing. They will tune in for the beginning of the debate to see if BHO is sufficiently patriotic and committed to economic change to be President. If the following 5-7 days of polls (OH will be the indicator here. Check OH polls after each first debate last few election cycles - it picks winner)shows he did this, then baring a sex related scandal thereafter, the race is over - - see you in November.

If he did not convince independents in the first debate, then it will be a nail biter.

Why don't you state your opinions about the polls and the candidates and stop singling out other posters. I didn't single you out when you made ridiculous assertions that American should listen to Europeans when voting. I'm sorry that I didn't attend a San Francisco university that teaches liberal elitists how foreign and terrorist endorsements...200k rallies...8 to 1 European support translates into lowering gas prices. Civilly and intellectually educate me. Down here in the south, we are proud to be Americans. My point was not that the war was good, but that Obama's record clearly shows that he did not support the war when everyone thought Sadam had WMDs. So either he had a crystal ball and new it was a mistake or he is an anti-war liberal who would do nothing if Iraq and Iran did have nukes.

marctx-

Your state has produced the single worst president in the history of this country. HE and the repubs are responsible for the mess we are in. Now, to continue to vote for them is nothing short of insanity.

To address your repeated lies about Obama's war record -

1) Most people KNEW Saddam had no WMDs. Maybe people in Texas who watch fox news all day didn't know because they are too stupid to read on the internet what the REST of the world was saying. But the rest of the world are just "foreigners", right? What do THEY know. Only Bush knows anything, right? The effing retard who barely knows English is to be trusted with everything, right? Pathetic.

2) Your sorry argument about a terrorist endorsement is a joke. Who has created more anti-American sentiment around the world than Bush? Who has created more terrorists around the world than Bush? You might think killing innocent Iraqis is "cool" now. Wait until that murdered Iraqi's son grows up. Who do you think he will blame? How easily will he be recruited into al-qaeda?

3) Your lack of education about gas prices is staggering. Do you even realize WHY gas prices are high?? Have you EVER taken an economics course? Do you even know what that word means? Prices are dictated by demand and supply. The speculation that goes on in the oil market is dictated by the safety of oil reserves. If safety is thought to be in jeopardy, prices spike due to speculation. Who is responsible for putting oil supply in jeopardy? Yup, your chimp leader, that's who. You think it is an effing coincidence that oil prices went up after the Iraq war? And while he was busy doing that, dubya decided to do nothing to raise fuel efficiency standards, or create alternative fuel supplies. Brilliant!!

4) You know why else "GAS IS EXPENSIVE"? The dollar is in free-fall. Why? Maybe you should ask "why" more often, instead of repeating, "me american, grunt, grunt, me number #1, me smash everything". The reason the dollar is in free-fall is due to *again* the chimp you elected not once but twice to run the country. When we import ridiculous amounts from China and export our jobs, well, things get effed up. Compound that with anti-american sentiment around the world due to the chimp pulling out of international environmental treaties and attacking random countries, and well, you have a problem. The freaking Canadian dollar is worth more than ours now. Keep electing repubs, and pretty soon the peso will be too! YOU will be sneaking across the border to Mexico, wondering, "what the hell happened to our economy?"

Way to go Dubya! And thanks, marctx, for representing the "south" so well. I'm sure you have done so much to repel those stereotypes of ignorant southerners who keep voting against their own interests. Way to go!

While it is sadly true that Texas was Bush's springboard, the yankees really need to take some responsibility here, too.

Born in Connecticut
Highschool at Andover
Summers in Maine
College at Yale,
Grad school at Harvard

It's not ALL our fault :)

And yet he retained that amazing accent of his. What a guy.

I'm still trying to figure out how he got into those schools. Especially Harvard business school - with a 'C' average in undergrad. Affirmative action for the rich and stupid apparently! I guess anything is possible with a powerful father.

He did decide to live there after his term ends however. So there is that. And it looks like the housing market is fine in houston and dallas (according to the multi-millionaire)!

Being uneducated is a dilemma I see. Bush took away your freedoms. You weren't even paying attention, too engrossed in the "kill the foreigners and Muslims" meme. Perhaps you are incapable of rational thought, just guided by fear. So year after year you vote repub, unaware of how republican idiocy has ruined this country, instead blaming foreigners and muslims for your problems. What a joke.

You make up things like "anti-American" to label people who disagree with your warped views on reality. What is anti-American about wanting a president that upholds the Constitution? What is anti-American about intellectual discourse? I know, I know, that is for "San Francisco" types only. You in the south are too engrossed with important things like guns, bibles, and being Murican. For who else will protect your house from homosexuals, intellectuals, Muslims, illegals, and random foreigners?

So, let me get this straight. Bush is a great president, the rest of the planet was wrong about everything, Dubya knows all and is guided by Jesus, so all of us foreigners/intellectuals from SF/liberals/anti-americans should just shut our mouths and let the republicans destroy the country/world? Is that your argument? Hmmmpf, convincing. Just like the fact that you couldn't respond with any counter-arguments to my previous posts. Well done. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
