Paul:

Obama wins Iowa and the USA/Gallup national poll showed Obama and Clinton tied at 33. Then Obama loses NH by 2-3 points (same number of delegates for each in NH), and this new national poll shows a 12 point spread, albeit and increase for Obama of 6 points since the pre-Christmas poll. Interestingly, Edwards has same national poll number as February and October 2007.

Republicans are experiencing significant volatility. McCain who barely competed in Iowa and received 13% of the vote, losing by 19 points to Huckabee, still gained 5 points nationally. Then McCain wins NH by about 5 points and gained 14 points nationally. Since the pre-Christmas poll, Giuliani has gone from 1st (27%), 11 points ahead of Huckabee, to 3rd, 20 points behind McCain and 6 behind Huckabee. In terms of Giuliani-Romney, Romney has gone from 13 points behind Giuliani in the pre-Christmas poll to 2 points behind now. All of which is to say, hold on and watch Michigan and South Carolina ... could continue to see a lot of volatility going into Florida and Super Tuesday.
