The key to the Democrats punching back is to focus on the Mcconnell and Boehner. THe Republicans who have been the more popular ones recently have been Scott Brown, Chris Christie, and Gov. Mcdonnell in VA.

They fairly favorable now, but we shall see how favorable they will be 3 years from now.

Since the GOP leaders are less popular in this poll as well as other polls, the Dems have to watch all the GOP candidates from NH to NC, and will be asked some serious questions.

I think Mitt Romney, and Tim Pawlenty have made big mistakes by being followers of the Conservative committees. Huck and Palin are clearly conservatives who don't apologize for their beliefs; Romney and Pawlenty acted like great bi-partisan guys when they were governor, but now are siding with people like Jim Demint, or at least that is what they look like when they can sit through hours and hours of mistruths from Cheney and others.

If GOP candidates in NV, NH, Kirk in IL and possibly Pataki in NY the more they pal around with neo-cons, military hawks and social conservatives, just to fit in, it will work against them back home.

I think if you look at Senators Lugar, Judd Gregg, Snowe and Collins, the reason they have won re-election so overwhelmingly is they have embraced some levels of conservativism yet they have not been part of a lot of these conservative associations like the Tea party, Americans for Prosperity and others. THeir independence has made them popular.

I don't want to give the GOP candidates advice because if they follow the strategy of the people I mentioned above, they will probably win, but if they follow the Scott Brown or Mitt Romney Group by teaming up with Cheney, Gingrich and Palin at these events, the Dems will do much better in 2010.

Interesting. Obama's the only one here with his disapproval lower than his approval.

Why does Kos inflate the favorabilities of Pelosi and Reid compared to every other pollser?

Farleftandproud:

Field Marshall, you are right, perhaps they have inflated the approval rating of Pelosi on this poll, but one thing that is certain is none of them have inflated the popularity of Mitch Mcconnell and John Boehner. I'll be surprised if that happens. I think maybe their own family could conduct a poll and it wouldn't be much better.

I think Obama should pull the plug on fox news, talk radio, and conservative blogs. Then suspend 2010 elections before repubs take over. Once that happens he could enact all of the socialist policies that he wants. It's time to fundamentally change this country. Capitalism is way over rated, plus noone really cares about freedom anyway, we need to be told whats best for us and the dems have all the right answers. I even like the idea of wearing gray suits like the Chinese.

This is favorability, not job approval.

Interesting point: Farleftandcrying; I often think our country is so constitutional as the law of the land, that it hurts our freedom.

The fillibuster law has been a failure. I think if you can get a majority of people in a country to vote on an issue, than that is all you need. We are the only western country that has that.

We need more progressives with gut! The Conservative conference had 3 days of coverage televised on Cspan. When will Moveon.org and other groups invite progressive Democrats for weekend event? Conservatives are better organized right now, and that is why they are winning.

Democrats honestly spend their time talking about statistics that they can use to try to win votes. The GOP uses out and out exaggerations. They say it so convincingly though, that a lot of independent followers are starting to believe it. I think Democrats and progressives need to fabricate, or at least spin things in a better way.

Limbaugh keeps calling Obama a communist, but if Ed Shultz or another progressive talk radio person kept calling Dick Cheney a "Fascist" what would happen? The left wing nuts still are more analytical, while the right wing nuts are more emotional, and tell stories that are untrue without and validity to. Take Sarah Palin and her "death Panels". Case closed.

Well, Obama will be way too nice to ever pull the plug on smear groups who spread misinformation from the righ. That already was tried by President Nixon and failed.

Obama would probably invite Limbaugh and his wife to dinner at the white house and their kids would play together.

I would like to tell Obama that his hope for bi-partisanship is going to be a waste of time. He wouldn't listen to us.
