GARY WAGNER:

The other thing the democrats have now that they didn't have in 1994 is a half trillion dollar slush fund to buy their re-election. Why do you think they left that much money in the "stimulus" bill for 2010 spending? The dollar might not be worth what it used to be but $500 billion will buy a lot votes.

But, Van Hollen is a complete idiot if he thinks his strategy of running against Bush again will save the democrats in 2010. Does he see any of those "wrong direction" poll numbers? Those aren't because of Bush - they are because of the democrats. The public is done punishing Bush (execpt for those with lingering effects of Bush Derangement Syndrome). They hold Obama and the democrats accountable for the massive damage they have done to this country in the past 15 months.
