Seems plausible. I hope someone polls the WI Gov race soon. I'd like to see if all of Neuman's ads are having any sort of effect.

The Favorables are still pretty good for Feingold. When the GOP lost seats in 2006 and 08, incumbents like George Allen, Senator Burns in Montana, and Gordon Brown were quite low. The only incumbent who had high approval but lost was in Chafee in heavily blue RI.

If Fiorina won this election it would be a far bigger upset than Scott Brown, being he was moderate, and Fiorina isn't. It would be more like if John Cornyn had lost in Texas in 2008

but also remember, in a "wave" election, old models can be thrown out the window. remember how ridiculously RED Indiana actually voted for obama?

let's see if the eBay CEO can bring the HP CEO up her coattails

Gordon Brown is the former prime minister of the UK... who were you talking about?

Watch out Republicans, the AFL/CIO has taken notice of these close polls in WA, WI and CA and they have launched landmark funding for these candidates especially. Watch out! We are tougher than you think.

Sharron Angle of course has taken the cake for Senate or governor cases being extreme. Warning of Unamerican activities in 2010 is insane, and how can this woman be taken seriously?

I might be able to picture Rand Paul on the senate floor but Angle would make a fool of herself if elected. I think if she can be elected, I think that John Ensign should seek re-election. Why not?

This is probably going to remain a close race until Election day. Two candidates who are well known and have positive favorables.

I hope Palin will do some robocalls for Johnson calling Obama a radical anti-American president whose policies we have to defeat. I hope some of these GOP challengers get too cocky and start making their inflamatory statements, lies and inviting Palin will be the break people like Feingold need.

What is that? A threat? I've dealt with union thugs in elections in Detroit - a bunch of thugs walking around the parking lot, wearing their UAW jackets, holding baseball bats, and writing down licence numbers didn't scare me then and it doesn't scare me now.

My voting place is now in a UAW union hall - also an election headquarters for the democratic candidate for congress. Even with all those thugs in that building supporting the democrat, I'm still going to walk in there and proudly vote against the guy they are protecting.

My own baseball bat will stay in the car unless I have to go get it.

This may be so but I think Johnson's image will be tarnished over time and, at least to some extent, deservedly so. For example take his compelling personal story:

What makes Johnson so attractive to many voters is that he's a "self made man" who, together with his brother-in-law built a company up from the ground up---only it turns out that this story is not what it appears to be.

Johnson married his way into a very wealthy family, as did McCain, and his wife's "daddy" sprung for the dough to start PACUR as an offshoot of his already substantial plastics empire. Johnson was initially just an employee there, and later became a top executive.

There's nothing wrong with this at all. However it's presented differently on his website. Critical info about how the business was able to be started was left out to make it appear that he and his brother-in-law started this entirely through their own sweat and blood, working 12 hr shifts, etc.

I've no doubt they DID work long shifts and do grunt work but this is vastly different from pooling your meager resources with your bro-in-law in some tiny warehouse somewhere and making a go of it. The money for their company all came from his wife's family and it was a very substantial investment.

One other thing that is, IMO, a little crazy about Johnson:

His position that sunspots are causing record warming are bizarre considering that sunspot activity is lower now than a decade ago and sea and land ice melting is accelerating rapidly.
